Allianz Global Investors' Head of Advisory Sales Authors "Investors Without Borders" For Financial Planning

Roddy Marino, Allianz Global Investors' head of advisory sales, discusses the role advisors can play in educating clients about international investment opportunities in an article for the November 2010 issue of Financial Planning.

Marino's article, "Investors Without Borders" was based on the results of Allianz Global Investors' most recent quarterly investor survey which found that most investors are looking for the best investment regardless if its foreign or domestic yet many said they lack knowledge about international investments and would like to learn more.

"The door seems wide open for educating your clients about opportunities overseas: about four in ten investors agree that overseas investing will play a more important role in their investment strategy. In addition, more than two-thirds of advised investors said they'd have at least a fair amount of confidence in the investing advice they might receive from their advisor about investing globally," Marino wrote. "Encourage your clients who are interested in investing in foreign markets yo work closely with you to understand the risks, rewards and complexities of the global marketplace."
