Heather Emerson

Heather Emerson has provided marketing communications and project management consulting services for some of the nation’s leading financial services companies. While at Tiller, she has worked closely with AARP Financial in the development of their Financial Jargon and Inflection Points campaigns and with the ING Foundation in the creation of their Partners in Empowerment platform and the ING-Girls Inc. Investment Challenge. 

Heather joined Tiller from Wechsler Ross & Partners, a leading marketing and design firm specializing in the investment management industry. During her six years at Wechsler, Heather oversaw complex, strategic marketing communications programs for clients such as Bank of America Private Bank, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), Principal Financial Group, and Ariel Capital Management. In particular, Heather worked closely with Ariel Capital to develop key educational materials related to the Ariel Education Initiative and Ariel Community Academy located in the North Kenwood community in Chicago. 

From 1998 to 2000, Heather was a member of the retirement plans marketing team at John Hancock Financial Services (previously John Hancock Funds) in Boston, MA, where she was responsible for the implementation of education-focused communications programs for 401(k) plan participants, developing the first personalized enrollment kit in the industry. Prior to beginning her business career, Heather was an admissions counselor at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

Since 1996, Heather has served on the board of directors of a foundation in Upstate New York. She also serves on the advisory board and development committee of the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, a  multi-million dollar private/public initiative designed to have a transformational economic impact on the Central New York region.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.
